The Grand Highlander comes equipped with Toyota’s latest cutting-edge technology, including the advanced Traffic Jam Assist system (available in the Platinum grade). Traffic Jam Assist utilizes radar and camera technology to alleviate the stress of stop-and-go traffic on restricted roads by autonomously controlling the steering, acceleration, and braking between speeds of 0-25 mph, subject to certain conditions.
Please note that the functionality of Traffic Jam Assist requires an active Drive Connect trial or subscription and is reliant on the availability of a 4G network and other factors.
As a standard feature, the Grand Highlander boasts a 12.3-inch touchscreen that showcases Toyota’s latest Audio Multimedia system, which has been developed and engineered by Toyota’s software teams based in Texas. The system allows users to interact with it effortlessly through intuitive touch controls and voice commands. By subscribing to the one-year Drive Connect trial, drivers and passengers gain access to Intelligent Assistant, Cloud Navigation, and Destination Assist. Intelligent Assistant enables voice-activated commands by simply saying “Hey Toyota,” allowing users to search for directions, adjust audio settings, control cabin temperature, and more. Cloud Navigation utilizes up-to-date map data, traffic information, and routing details, including a POI (Point of Interest) search powered by Google. Additionally, Destination Assist provides 24/7 access to live agents for assistance.
Toyota Audio Multimedia incorporates Bluetooth® phone connectivity, enabling seamless wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ as standard features. Furthermore, the Grand Highlander offers Wi-Fi Connect, which includes a one-month trial subscription and provides 4G connectivity for up to five devices, effectively turning the vehicle into an AT&T Hotspot. Alongside its extensive audio playback capabilities with HD Radio®, USB data, and a three-month trial subscription to SiriusXM® Platinum Plan, Wi-Fi Connect enables Integrated Streaming, allowing customers to link their Apple Music® and Amazon Music subscriptions to the vehicle for onboard control.
Similar to other vehicles equipped with Toyota Audio Multimedia, Grand Highlander drivers have the convenience of downloading Over-the-Air (OTA) updates to enhance their multimedia experience.
For audiophiles, the Grand Highlander offers an optional JBL® Premium Audio system featuring 11 speakers, delivering a mobile concert experience across various music genres. Standard on the Limited and Platinum grades, this system incorporates Clari-Fi® technology to revitalize compressed digital music formats and enhance the overall audio quality.
The Grand Highlander provides several additional Connected Services options, including Safety Connect, which offers features such as the Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), 24/7 Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Locator, and Collision Assistance, with a trial period of up to 10 years (subject to 4G network availability). Service Connect allows drivers to receive Vehicle Health Reports, Maintenance Alerts, and reminders for up to 10 years (subject to 4G network availability).
With the Toyota app, users can stay connected to their Grand Highlander through the Remote Connect service, which comes with a one-year trial. This feature enables users to activate headlights, lock/unlock doors, remotely start the vehicle, check vehicle status, receive reminder notifications, and set Guest Driver Alerts. Digital key functionality is available on all grades, along with a Remote Connect trial or subscription, making it convenient to lock/unlock doors, remotely start the vehicle, and more, all from a smartphone.
The Grand Highlander offers a wide range of convenient features. Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) is a standard feature across all grades. Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking is available in the Limited and Platinum grades. The Panoramic View Monitor is an option that assists drivers in viewing their surroundings at low speeds, utilizing the front, side, and rear cameras to display a comprehensive overhead image of the vehicle on the screen.
Other available conveniences include a heated steering wheel and power-folding mirrors (Limited and Platinum grades), heated and ventilated front and second-row seats (Platinum grade), 1,500-watt power outlets (Hybrid and Hybrid Max powertrains on Limited and Platinum grades), and hands-free power liftgate (Limited and Platinum grades).
